Rick Kohr is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Evergreen Advisors.
As an investment banking and corporate advisory firm, Evergreen Advisors helps growth-stage and middle-market companies navigate financing, recapitalization, and exit strategies. The firm’s services include capital raises, recapitalizations, mergers and acquisitions, business sales, and ESOPs. Evergreen has completed more than 200 transactions representing over $12 billion in total transaction value, with additional advisory services including outsourced CFO and business valuation services.
Rick has more than 30 years of experience advising early-stage growth and middle-market companies on financing, recapitalization, and exit strategies. He has extensive experience with capital raises, recapitalizations, business sales, and ESOPs.

He holds Series 7, 79, 24, and 63 securities licenses and has also passed the Series 65 examination.
Organizations
Rick was a co-founder and managing member of the Chesapeake Emerging Opportunities Club, the first angel venture capital fund in Maryland. He currently serves on the Investment Committee for the University of Maryland Momentum Fund, Propel Fund, and Wexford Scitech Fund.
He is the past chair of the Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore (EAGB) and has held board and leadership positions with a number of organizations throughout Maryland’s business and investment community.
Rick currently serves on the Board of Harkins Builders, Inc. and the Advisory Board for M&T Bank’s Maryland region. His previous board and leadership roles include Acuity Mobile, Inc., Butler Capital, Inc., e.magination network LLC, Platform Logic Inc., Emerging Technology Council, Metasource, Hi-Tech Fasteners Inc., Maryland Development Technology Center (MDTC), LifeJourney, Inc., Howard County Economic Development Authority, Healthcare Interactive, and BWTech. He also served on the Howard County Cyber Security Commission.
Education
Rick is a graduate of Loyola University Maryland, where he earned an MBA from the Sellinger School of Business with concentrations in Finance and Marketing, as well as a BA in Accounting.
Interests
Rick is married with three children and resides in Ellicott City, Maryland.
