Greg Huff has spent over 30 years providing financial advisory services to a diverse base of middle market and publicly traded companies. He has successfully completed numerous acquisitions and divestitures, providing a full range of advice pertaining to the valuation, structuring, financing, negotiating and closing of transactions. He has assisted owners of closely held businesses in identifying and evaluating strategic alternatives to maximize value including growth through acquisition, divestitures, succession planning, and accessing capital markets through private placements of equity and debt. He has prepared valuations for a variety of purposes including Federal estate, gift and income taxes, equity based compensation plans, stock recapitalizations, fairness opinions, financial reporting and mergers & acquisitions.
Prior to joining Evergreen Advisors, his experience included being the Director, Mergers & Acquisition, CoreStates Securities Corp., the investment banking arm of CoreStates Bank, N.A. He served as investment banking liaison for the Bank’s customers in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland. Assisting customers with mergers, divestitures, ESOPs, private placements of investment grade debt and mezzanine capital and general financial advisory services.
Prior to CoreStates, he was the Vice President, Corporate Finance Department, Mercantile-Safe Deposit & Trust Company, Baltimore, Maryland. Head of the Trust Department’s closely-held companies unit, which had investment responsibility for a portfolio of over $500 million of privately held companies. In this capacity, Mr. Huff served on the board of directors of operating businesses and investment holding companies. While at Mercantile, Mr. Huff specialized in business valuations, mergers & acquisitions and raising capital.
Greg Huff received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College, a J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law and is a member of the Maryland Bar. He has been a guest lecturer at the University of Baltimore School of Law and has spoken on the issues of business valuation, Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs) and mergers & acquisitions on numerous occasions before professionals and business owners.
